The London West Hollywood Hotel in West Hollywood, California, debuted a new penthouse suite last month. Drawing inspiration from London’s history and influence on style, fashion and design, the suite was designed by Richmond International with a relaxed, residential feel.
At 11,000 square feet (1,022m2), the penthouse is billed as the largest suite in Los Angeles. Richmond worked with Vivienne Westwood to introduce the iconic designer’s fabrics, wall coverings, cushions and artwork throughout the expansive suite.
“Vivienne Westwood is such an iconic figure,” said Fiona Thompson, principal at Richmond. “It was a very exciting journey to work with the brand’s classic design signature pieces, and weave her idiosyncratic style in this project which has resulted in the creation of what we think is a truly unique, unforgettable space.”
The master bedroom features a series of luxurious spaces, including a bedroom with coffered ceiling and a contemporary four-poster bed, a mirrored dressing room, and a grand marble bathroom with high ceiling light slot, which casts shadows down onto the free-standing bath tub. A media room, with timber lined ceiling, Westwood wall hanging, and large corner sofa, sits opposite a bright dining room and an adjoining pantry.
A large roof terrace offers views over the Los Angeles hills and across the city, and includes a large seating area with day beds, large sofas, a fire pit and high-bar tables.
