Located in the Santiago de Chile’s hip Barrio Italia, Maison Italia 1029 is a design boutique hotel offering just 5 luxury rooms. Behind the original Republican-style façade is a total new building fusing minimalist design with warm, native materials. Rooms come with a splendid terrace overlooking the mountains. Room facilities include air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a coffee machine as well as an iPod docking station. The Maison Italia 1029 is much a social place with a bar/restaurant in the courtyard and a co-working/social lounge on the rooftop. Free bicycles are available to explore the neighborhood and a free shuttle service for places further ahead.

The DNA: Maison Italia 1029 is the brainchild of two local sisters, Camila (fashion designer) and Marion (hospitality professional) De Prada. They envisioned the early 20th-century house as a place which integrates design and travel in a creative, social enviroment. Here, design, art and culture lovers will find a space to share their experiences and ideas, learn about each other, explore trends, have fun and relax, something like a members club – but open to all.
