Thompson Hotels’ The Beekman is unveiling two new luxury penthouse suites.
Designed by London-based Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, the suites come on the heels of the hotel’s one-year anniversary and mark the completion of three years worth of renovations to the landmarked building – one of Manhattan’s first skyscrapers built in 1883 – which also included the restoration of its nine-story Victorian atrium and glass skylight.
Guests access the two suites through a private entryway from the hotel’s 10th floor. The suites have 40-foot (12m) pitched ceilings with 19th century beaux-arts movement chandeliers.
The first floor has a lounge and dining area with an antique stone fireplace, wet bar, powder room and marble bathroom. The second floor mezzanine looks down upon the entertaining space and has king size bed and freestanding soaking tub. Dark stained wood paneling and aged oak floors run throughout the rooms.
The luxury suites start at a whopping US$6,500 per night and come with amenities like a dedicated concierge team, American breakfast, and luxury round-trip airport transfer.
