Tsingpu Yangzhou Retreat is set in a neglected warehouse, a 20-minute walk from Yangzhou’s Slender West Lake. Rooms and public spaces are distributed in a calm grid of low-slung grey-bricked pavilions, courtyards and internal decorative pools that call to mind, without any hint of cliché, traditional hutong houses.
The 20 rooms, including 1 suite are calm oases lined with terrazzo, white oak, walnut and steel, and dressed with specially commissioned furniture and lighting. All rooms come with air conditioning and heating, an electric kettle, a hairdryer, complimentary toiletries and slippers.
An all-inclusive regime includes a buffet or an American breakfast, dinner of Huaiyang cuisine at the restaurant and drinks throughout the day. There is a large number of public spaces – dedicated to an equally large number of activities and experiences, including an art gallery, a theatre and a tea house.
