Villa Gilda | Forte dei Marmi, Italy

New DNA Hotels and bookhotels.direct member

Villa Gilda is an exceptional place, somewhere between a boutique bed&breakfast and a small luxury hotel. It is located 5 kilometers from its own stunning beach club at Forte dei Marmi in the lush green foothills of Tuscany. The hotel is surrounded by 8,000m2 of land with olive groves and citrus trees offering spectacular views of the Apuanian Alps as well as the famed beaches of Versilia.

There are only seven spacious suites in different sizes and lay-outs. All come with parquet floors, custom furnishings and accessories, pieces of art, Italian design and fresh flowers. The private terrace has sea views or gives direct access to the gardens. Room facilities include air conditioning, a TV, a minibar, a safe and coffee and tea making facilities. Marble bathrooms (Carrara is just a few minutes’ drive) come with walk-in rain showers. Two rooms can be combined into one big suite for a family. Selected rooms have fire places.

The ground floor consists of a common area with lounge, living room, dining room, and a kitchen that can be reserved upon request. A breakfast of freshly baked cakes, homemade jams, fresh fruits and local produce is available until noon. It is either served inside in the lounge or all-fresco so guests can take in the view. Typical Tuscan lunches or dinners can be booked in advance.

Villa Gilda has a sauna, and a heated outdoor swimming pool in the beautiful gardens. Massages can be organized, as well as beauty consultations. Bicycles are available for our guests to use for easy transport to the hotel’s beach club as parking can be expensive and hard to find in Forte dei Marmi. There is also a free shuttle service.

The DNA: After the success of their beach club, which is also home to one of Forte dei Marmi’s most popular fish restaurants, owners  Ilda, Riccardo and Mrs. Adua decided to turn a beautiful Italian family villa into a boutique hotel with a similar modern aesthetic. The tranquil sanctuary is furnished with great care and attention to detail, using a blend of Italian design, vintage elements and beautiful linens. Guests can slump into a beautiful designer sofa in the large living room, relax with a book in a lovely armchair next to the fireplace, or in the gardens with its numerous terraces with stunning views.
