Guest houses 3.0 are a new type of hotel rooms in the hotel and recreational complex Verholy Relax Park in Sosnovka (near the city of Poltava), Ukraine. Only the forest, the noise of trees, the singing of birds and nobody else on the horizon.
The guest houses are integrated into the surrounding pine forest thanks to a patio and floor to ceiling panoramic glazing. Architects YOD Design Lab used lightweight metal frame structures which can be “screwed” on in stead of using an usual solid base. This technology allows to build among the pines without damaging any trees or their root system. The houses are located at least a meter above the ground, so designers succeeded to manage without a base structure and waterproofing.
The buildings are covered with heat-treated plates made of solid alder. The interior floors are tiled and equipped with water heating, walls are covered with plywood from veneered oak, ceilings and terrace with larch plates. Finishings use natural materials and color gamma.
